Brett Kissel to Perform at CCMA Awards in Edmonton September 8

Canadian country music’s biggest night takes over Edmonton on Sunday, September 8 and airs at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC-TV.August 20, 2013 (Toronto, ON) – Today the Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) announced that four more of Canada’s biggest country stars are set to take to the stage at the 2013 CCMA Awards Broadcast on Sunday, September 8 from Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta. The CCMA Awards Broadcast will air at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC-TV, with encore airings on CMT (Canada) starting at 10 pm ET.

Jason Blaine, Chad Brownlee, Brett Kissel, and Small Town Pistols join the previously announced homegrown line-up that includes Autumn Hill, Gord Bamford, Dean Brody, George Canyon, Emerson Drive, High Valley, Kira Isabella, and Dallas Smith, as well as multi-Platinum international artists The Band Perry, Hunter Hayes, and Darius Rucker.

Alberta’s own Brett Kissel holds the distinction of being the youngest-ever artist nominated for a CCMA Award, when he received his first CCMA Rising Star Award nomination in 2006 at just 15 years old.  Since signing with Warner Music Canada earlier this year, accolade for Kissel’s music has steadily grown. His major label debut single ‘Started With A Song’ set a record for becoming the most added track at Canadian country radio in its first week.
