Night 2 of the inaugural Battle of the Rockies was again a great night of racing witnessed by a capacity crowd in in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
Former Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby champion Chad Harden placed first for the night with a run of 1:18.43. Coming off barrel number 2 in heat 8, Harden, driving the ConocoPhillips Supporting Farm Safety Outfit, won the first place cheque on the night by 29 one-hundreds of a second over Rae Croteau Jr. who placed second on the night. Jason Glass, Chance Bensmiller and Shane Cartier rounded out the top five for the night.
Brian Mayan received an average time for his run tonight. With 2 consecutive top five runs, Rae Croteau Jr., leads the overall aggregate standings with a 2-day combined time of 2:36.70. He leads the overall by 88 one-hundreds of a second over day 1 and track record holder Rick Fraser. Grant Profit, Troy Flad and Chad Harden are the top five overall after 2 runs.
The chuckwagon recording the top aggregate time over the 4 days will be declared the 2010 Battle of the Rockies Champion.
Saturday’s races at the Battle of the Rockies will go at 7:00pm, with the final run to go Sunday at 2:00pm in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
