Watch Fob?

In the last issue, I showed this photo and asked if anyone knew what this was. It is inscribed: “1912 Calgary Stampede” — but there was no indication what this souvenir actually was.

We heard from the well-known collector and noted historian Fred Hauck of Redcliff, Alta., who suggested this could be a watch fob that was made specifically for the 1912 Calgary Stampede.

A watch fob was attached to a pocket watch by the leather strap and buckle. The fob itself hung outside of the pocket and provided easy access to the pocket watch.
