Burwash Honoured by the Industry

On January 10, at the Alberta Horse Breeders and Owner’s Conference in Red Deer, Alta., the Horse Industry Association of Alberta presented Dr. Wayne Burwash, with the Distinguished Service Award, in recognition of his lasting influence and contributions to the equine industry in the province.

Burwash is a graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WC VM), and began practicing veterinary medicine in 1970. Early in his career, Burwash and Bob Church from the University of Calgary, become the first veterinarians in Canada to perform Commercial Embryo Transfer. In 1977, Dr. Burwash opened his own equine clinic, known today as Burwash Equine Services in Calgary.
