They say records are made to be broken and that was the case at the 38th Annual Cypress Hills Sale, the longest running horse sale in Canada, hold in Maple Creek, Sask.

There was a tie this year for the High Selling Broke horse title. DC Red Wrangler, a 7-year-old sorrel gelding consigned by Lonesum D Ranch sold for $20,000; Paystreak, an AQHA 2-year-old gelding sired by Ninety Nine Goldmine consigned by William and Donna Beierbach also brought $20,000.

The high selling foal, and also a new record, High On A Mine, a stud colt out of Rena High Dasher and sired by Ninety Nine Goldmine brought $7,000. Reserve high selling foal (tie) Lot 5 and Lot 28 also brought final bids of $5,000; both sired by Ninety Nine Goldmine.
