George Canyon, country music superstar, announced this morning on Okotoks, Alberta, radio station, The Eagle 100.9 that he will be running for the Conservative nomination in the re-created Bow River federal electoral boundary. The riding includes Claresholm, Brooks and Fort Macleod.
In a release Mr. Canyon states “The people in this riding are resilient and hard working. I was blown away by how well we all pulled together as a team while under the terrible stress of the flood crisis last year, the recovery of which is still ongoing,”
There is no one particular political issue causing him to run – George Canyon just wants to see the area continue to prosper and grow.
For all concerned, rest assured, he won’t stop music!
