Fourteen of the top stock contractors in the Canadian West brought three of their best young saddle broncs to the Foothills Futurity held in Cochrane July 11. Twenty-one hotshot cowboys got two trips and a chance at a big payoff. Nice weather helped to bring out the crowd to see the winning remuda (three broncs) of MX— Ranch win first and earn $4,800; Justin Toogood take second and $3,600 and Darcy Hollingsworth/Midnite Rodeo split 3/4 for $1,800. Four pickup men, Jim Kelts, Keith Pengelly, Phillip Schellenberg and Doug Borton were the safety team.

The winningest cowboy was Connor Reinhart; he won round one and two and was first in the average, taking home a cheque for $2,240. Second was Kain Loof, Jake Watson was third and Carl Green took fourth. Top Remuda went to MX— Ranch and the High Mark Horse was a split between Seniora and Thunderstruck.
