
The world’s best rodeo cowboys and cowgirls are coming back to the richest outdoor rodeo in the world — the $2 million Calgary Stampede.
A total of 120 competitors in the six major rodeo events have qualified. Here is the list of the 27 Canadians invited to compete in the six major events:
In Saddle Bronc Riding cheer on Jim Berry, Rocky Mtn House AB; Luke Butterfield, Ponoka AB; Dustin Flundra, Pincher Creek AB; Rylan Geiger, Duchess AB and Sam Kelts, Millarville AB.
In Bareback Riding welcome Dusty LaValley, Bezanson AB; Clint Laye, Cadogan AB; Michael Solberg, Sunnybrook AB and Jake Vold, Ponoka AB.
Tie Down Roping features Canadians Al Bouchard, Scandia AB; Logan Hofer, Magrath AB; Murray Pole, Erskine AB and Riley Warren, Stettler AB.
The big men in Steer Wrestling include Cody Cassidy, Donalda AB; Curtis Cassidy, Donalda AB; Zane Hankel, Redcliff AB; J.D. Hays, Rocky Mtn House AB and Tanner Milan, Cochrane AB.
The Ladies Barrel Racing includes Nancy Csabay, Taber AB; Cranna Roberts, Lacombe AB and two-time World Champion Lindsay Sears, Nanton AB.
Bull Riding has the largest group of Canadians, including Chad Besplug, Claresholm AB; Tanner Byrne, Prince Albert, SK; Ty Pozzobon, Merritt BC; Aaron Roy, Yellow Grass SK; Scott Schiffner, Strathmore AB and Jody Turner, Cochrane AB.
The best of luck to all the Canadians, as one competitor in each event can earn a $100,000 paycheque if they win the million dollar Sunday Showdown.
