Canada’s answer to pure country strengthens profile on major label debut March
2012

(January 9th, 2012 – Toronto, ON) Today Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc.
announced the signing of Australian born, Alberta based Country music
singer/songwriter Gord Bamford. The Canadian Country star’s highly anticipated
major label debut Is It Friday Yet? drops on March 6th, 2012.

“Sony Music is home to some of the biggest names in Country music today. We
welcome Gord to the roster that made us the #1 airplay label at Country radio
for a second year in row (Mediabase Canada). As well as his burgeoning career,
Gord ‘s philanthropic efforts are to be commended. We are thrilled to have him
call Sony Music Entertainment Canada home” stated Shane Carter, President, Sony
Music Entertainment Canada Inc.

Gord Bamford adds, “It has been a long road to get to where I am today and I am
very proud of the team of people that have helped me to this point. It is every
artist’s dream to play music and do what they love for a living. I have been
searching for a major label home that houses a team with the same vision and
goals as myself, one that really believes in the music I make…Country Music!
Signing with Sony Music Entertainment Canada was probably the best Christmas
gift a guy could have received. I’m ecstatic, proud and honoured with my new
partnership with the label and look forward to great fun and success. I feel
like a part of the Sony family already, and we are just getting started.”

On January 9th, 2012, Bamford delivers the first single and title track Is It
Friday Yet?  to Canadian Country radio. This blue collar, vintage Bamford anthem
addresses the question that everyone wants answered. With a solid hook, line and
sinker Is It Friday Yet? points the listener in the right direction…….the
weekend!!!

With over 16 years of experience writing, performing and endlessly traversing
the Canadian landscape earning fans, this independent singer/songwriter is at a
level very few Canadian artists, Country or otherwise, have reached. Following
the massive success of his 4th release, 2010’s Day Job, which garnered 5 CCMAs
out of an unbelievable 15 CCMA Nominations for Bamford, his band and management
team, Is It Friday Yet?  raises the bar yet again. The song “My Daughters
Father” from Day Job was the #1 Spun Canadian song in 2011 with over 10,000
spins according to Nielson BDS Canada’s Year end Country airplay chart. As the
Canadian Country Music Association’s 2010 ‘Male Artist of the Year’, Gord
Bamford, with the help of a major label push, is poised to take his latest
release to the next level.

Gord Bamford continues to work tirelessly giving back to communities and groups
across Canada. His efforts through The Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation has
raised over $800,000 to date and has helped support groups such as Big Brothers
and Sisters, Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Make a Wish, McMaster Children’s
Hospital (Hamilton) along with many regional charities and initiatives.
