Congratulations to Arleta Bowhay who was crowned 2012 Miss Rodeo Canada tonight!
The newly crowned Queen will travel to over 400 events all across Canada and around the world. Her first stop will be at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas where she will be joining Miss Rodeo America on December 1, 2011.
Since 1955, a new Miss Rodeo Canada has been crowned annually. Each Queen, including 2010 winner Kezia Morrison, has been a role model for young girls everywhere and provided an invaluable service to the community through their work at numerous charity events.
Here’s a little bit of information about Arleta!
A life of strong personal, moral and agriculture values defines Arleta Bowhay! She was home schooled enabling participation in her family’s mixed farming operation and volunteering in the community.
Arleta is an accomplished pianist and singer. She attended camps for several years followed by being a staff volunteer. Arleta’s 10 year involvement in 4-H has been an integral part of her personal and professional development, resulting in her being a gifted public speaker winning many awards. Her involvement included beef, horse and canine projects. Arleta held numerous 4-H executive positions including club President.
Arleta has been exposed to rodeo her entire life. Her dream came true when she was crowned Miss Rodeo Sundre 2009, a responsibility she took very seriously. Her confident warm personality and natural leadership strengths brings many mentorship opportunities. Arleta plans to complete her Olds College Business Administration program majoring in marketing and looks forward to a professional career as a communications representative where she can apply her business acumen, vibrant personality and western heritage.
