River City Round Up is kicking off on November 5th at Churchill Square. River City Round Up is an Edmonton-wide festival that celebrates Edmonton’s agriculture and western heritage as Farmfair and the Canadian Finals Rodeo start to take over the city!

This year the Kick-Off will be taking place in Churchill Square and has a great line-up of events! There will be a Round Up Caravan at 12:15pm that will be circling the square and consists of over 30 covered wagons, 20 outriders, Miss Rodeo Canada 2011 and the 2012 contestants, the Edmonton Sheriff’s Posse, the RCMP Riders and more. After the Caravan, there will be a formal presentation by Mayor Stephen Mandel, and then activities on the square all day. Hayrides, Pony Rides, films, music, and more!

If you bring a food bank donation, you get a free old time photograph session. Woody from Toy Story, Rambling Roy the Singing Cowboy Horse, and Clarence the Clown will be wandering around.
