Strome Celebrates 100 Years with Massive Parade
If you like horses, small town celebrations and all things olde-tymey – then Strome, Alta., is your destination this coming weekend.
The festivities begin Friday, Aug 13 and run until Sunday evening.
The BIG event takes place on Saturday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m., with their completely horse-drawn parade. Some of the country’s top teamsters and antique equipment collectors have banded together to produce a dazzling display of horse drawn farming equipment, road building equipment and an amazing display of buggies and wagons to fuel the world’s longest and largest horse drawn parade.
The village of Strome, located southeast of Edmonton along Highway 13, is celebrating their 100th anniversary since the founding of the friendly community.
